DOCK BOXES

We carry the largest dock box available - 6.5’ x 2’ x 2’, so that you can fit skis and fishing poles in the box. It is constructed of white fiberglass with a louvered vent on each side. Most inexpensive boxes will only have chains to hold the lid open; if the wind is blowing in the wrong direction, the lid can come down on your wrists! To hold it in place, we mount a pair of gas-powered pistons on the lid as you find on the hatchback on a car. Most boxes come with a padlock hasp, but unfortunately they are fastened to the box with aluminum rivets which anyone can break with a simple twist of a screwdriver. The boxes we offer have a keyed stainless steel handle/lock that operates two rods which extend into opposite corners to offer a three-point locking system (like a garage door). These boxes are typically mounted to the deck, but to save deck space, we frequently recommend welding fabricated brackets to the back of the dock and cantilevering the box out over the water. By the way, this combination of bracket and box is strong enough for two people to sit on the top of the box.
